On Friday we kicked off our House Party as a part of our Gator Gains program. The House System is a way to build positive climate and culture within a school community. Houses are a way to build family within family. Every K to 6th grade student, teacher and staff member in the school will belong to one of the groups known as Houses. Houses are like teams, where everyone belongs and everyone participates. Members of each house will work together as they vie for the title of “House of the Trimester”, and ultimately “House of the Year- winning the Gator Cup”
The friendly rivalry builds a healthy community spirit where friendships are strengthened, character is built and school is more fun. The purpose of the House System is to build and promote community across grade levels at Ocean Gate Elementary School and to encourage positive behavior.
